A Letter to the Future of Litzor BBG #433
To the future of Litzor,
Whether you're new to our chapter or have been here for a while, welcome to the strongest sisterhood in the Order: Litzor. In Litzor, you'll find a community of support, empowerment, and friendship that will create memories to last a lifetime.
Reflecting on my journey in Litzor, I'm grateful for the experiences and people who have shaped me. I first joined the chapter in 8th grade, scared of what to expect but open to finding a place where I could belong. I joined an MIT class that only had around five active members. Little did I know I was joining a family that would encourage me to grow into the person I am today.
My time on the chapter board began when I took a leap of faith after encouragement from an older member and ran for Mazkirah. This position ignited my passion for leadership and led me to run for regional board. After a fantastic term, I served as MIT Mom, where I mentored new members. It was inspiring to guide others, just as my mentors had done for me. Working alongside one of my closest friends, we created meaningful events like MIT pickup and surprise breakfast, strengthening our bond and deepening the sense of community in our chapter.
As S'ganit, I worked closely with my N'siah, creating a stronger connection with our board and growing our chapter from one of the smallest to the largest and most active chapters in Lonestar. These positions taught me that leadership isn't just about your title but about building relationships, inspiring others, and leaving a legacy. They prepared me to pursue regional leadership, first as the 30th Mazkirah and now as Lonestar's 41st N'siah. It's incredibly special to follow in the footsteps of former Litzor members, like Becca Nathan, and continue our chapter's legacy.
To you, the future of Litzor, my advice is simple: don't be afraid to leap. Whether running for a board position, stepping out of your comfort zone, or mentoring someone new, these moments will help you grow in ways you can't imagine. Some of my favorite memories are of late-night brainstorming sessions, karaoke on the way to events, and the connections formed with the chapter.
Always remember to lead with kindness and create a place where everyone feels they belong, but most importantly, be the mentor you wish you had—because every interaction, every encouraging word, and every act of guidance has the potential to change someone's journey in BBYO. I never would have run for the board or remained active without the push from an older member and mentor. I can't wait to see the incredible things you will achieve and the bonds you will create. You are the future of Litzor, and I am so proud to welcome you into this sisterhood.
With lots of love and confidence in you,
I forever remain Allie Kahn, the 41st Regional N'siah and a forever member of Litzor BBG #433
